Lacking basic numeracy skills is a critical disadvantage to those wishing to be able to interpret medical texts and to communicate scientific terminology. This module is not intended to compensate for innumeracy but to remind the student of various mathematical conventions frequently encountered in the literature and in discussion. Those who find this module “too difficult” have the responsibility to undertake some basic reeducation in mathematics else they will find much of the discussion in later modules incomprehensible.
